Tree REPORTS

Many cities and counties in the metro Atlanta area require an assessment and report of the trees on site before development can occur. The reports provided by canopy consultants help designers and municipal arborists make informed decisions regarding design and preservation of trees.

specimen tree concept plans

In some municipalities a part of the site plan process is a tree concept plan that incorporates the specimen tree report with the limits of disturbance of the project. Trees identified as  high value will need to be designed around and we can provide the plan to save those trees.

Tree inventories

Trees are a valuable resource on many levels. They provide a sense of place, shade and environmental services. It is good to know what trees are on a property and their potential for failure. A tree inventory provides that valuable information so that tree owners can make informed decisions regarding tree maintence and removal.

Once the permit has been issued and construction can begin the first step is the installation of silt fence and the tree fence. Canopy Consultants can provide a arborist to be on site during the fence installation, ensuring it is is the appropriate location and any roots that will be damaged are cleanly cut.

tree prescription

Trees in an urban setting that have less than ideal root space can have significant improvements made to the general health of the tree through tree prescriptions. These prescription can be as simple as a layer of mulch around the structural root plate or intense as root invigoration with an AirSpade.

As a part of our report and inventory process we can also provide a GPS located tree survey of the site. We use sub-meter data collection equipment, corrected in real time to provide the highest level of accuracy currently available with GPS technology.
